Nominating

 
Purpose:

The purpose of the Nominating Committee, as outlined in Article VIII of the bylaws, is to nominate one or more candidates for each vacancy on the Board.

 

Committee Membership:

The Nominating Committee is composed of 5 members, in accordance with Article VIII of the bylaws, and consists of the National Director, Vice Chair, Chair-Elect, and two intermediate trustees.  The National Director serves as Chair.

    Functions:

    • The committee meets for deliberations in accordance with Article VIII of the bylaws, considering the problems and needs of the Section and the varied professional interests, Section experience, and qualifications of the members when reviewing prospective nominees.  The committee must determine the availability of each prospective nominee and be assured of his or her willingness to serve prior to formal nomination.
    • The committee reports the new slate of candidates to the Secretary-Treasurer in adequate time for publication, as required by the bylaws.  A final report is presented to the Board at their regular summer meeting.  The committee chair announces the nominations to the membership at the annual business meeting.
