How does your utility’s safety program measure up?
Find out by entering your drinking water utility in the Michigan Section’s Safety Award Competition!
The competition is administered by the Safety Practices Committee and is intended to recognize excellence in water utility safety programs. The competition involves the review and evaluation of the utilities’ safety record and safety program. All Michigan Section winners (by size/classification) will be entered in the AWWA National Wendell R. La Due Safety Award competition for possible national recognition. In addition to distributing awards in each classification, the Safety Practices Committee will also recognize utilities that have shown dedication and progress in providing a safe work place.
Since 2003, the Michigan Section has been a recipient of the National Wendell LaDue Utility Award eleven times in three different Classes. Let’s bring home another National award this year! We particularly want to encourage utilities that have not previously entered the competition.
To enter, follow the 2012 LaDue General Information Sheet, and complete both the ‘2012 Candidate Nomination Form and Supplemental Worksheet’ available on the Section’s website (http://www.mi-water.org/), then submit to the address below. The deadline for receipt of an application is February 6, 2012.
