AWWA and the Section like you to have fun while helping hone your skills. There are a number of contests and competitions that you can get involved with at the state level and then if you win, at the national level. View the winners of these competitions here

Best Tasting Water in Michigan

Submit a water sample and see if your community has the best tasting water in Michigan.

Tapping Team

A team of three must tap into a line and the line must hold water pressure.

Meter Madness

Here you can work with a partner to assemble a meter from a bucket of parts. And of course you're racing against the clock - go! For ACE21, the meter that will be used will be the Mueller water meter 5/8" x 3/4" 420 bronze positive displacement meter.

Hydrant Hysteria

New to the Midwest and in its pilot study phase, this new and interesting competition is still just a demonstration. Sign up to participate or just watch the demo as a team of two dis-assemble and re-assemble a hydrant.

Compete at 2020 Joint Expo & Operators Day

To compete in the 2020 competitions for a chance to represent Michigan at ACE20 in Orlando, contact Greg Alimenti for more information. And then register your team.

All those participating in or coordinating competitions should register as exhibitors through the booth staff registration page.  All contest coordinators, competitors and their guests must be pre-registered no later than Jan 24th to ensure easy access to the Exhibit Hall and to avoid having to pay an entrance fee*. If you are already registered to walk the exhibit hall or to participate in a training, there is no need to register again unless you need access to the floor during set up prior to the Exhibit Hall opening.

*Use booth #1218 in the registration process to indicate that you are associated with the competitions.

If you have any questions, please contact Bonnifer Ballard.
