POU Mailer response Sep 2017
Some members have reported that their water customers are receiving direct mail regarding point of use (POU) devices. These mailers are masquerading as official documents from a municipality or other government agency and are meant to scare customers into getting their water tested through the company and then purchasing a POU device from that same company. Although the Section takes no position on POU devices, we do take exception to these irresponsible scare tactics. As part of our communications strategy, a small task force put together resources for members to use when communicating with customers about these mailers.
