This dynamic, hands-on 7-hour course is built for water professionals ready to elevate their expertise in pump and valve operation, maintenance, and overall system performance. Through expert-led instruction and live demonstrations, participants will break down pump types, system and pump curves, preventative maintenance strategies, valve operations, and energy optimization techniques.

The day goes beyond the classroom with a guided shop tour of Kennedy Industries and a live test pit demonstration to see pump performance in real time—then wraps up with in-depth training on Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and their impact on system efficiency and control.

Meet the instructors:

Travis Cole has been with Kennedy Industries for six years, working closely with municipalities across both the east and west sides of Michigan. He specializes in equipment and systems in and around water and wastewater treatment plants, bringing hands-on experience and practical insight to the communities he serves. Travis is passionate about helping utilities improve reliability and performance through thoughtful solutions and strong partnerships. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, and golfing.

Corey Davis has over 30 years of municipal experience and has been with Kennedy Industries for nearly two years. He brings extensive operational knowledge and real-world expertise in system maintenance and performance.
