Water and Sewer Department Utility Worker / Operator

Position Responsibilities: 

Under the supervision of the Water and Sewer Supervisor, performs duties necessary in the maintenance, construction and repairs of the Township's water distribution system and sanitary sewer system. In addition, reads and records consumption data from water meters and maintains and repairs meters when necessary. may operate a backhoe other heavy equipment as assigned.

Position Requirements:

1. Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of one year related and progressively more responsible water maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education and technical experience.
2. Possession of a valid Michigan Vehicle Operators License
3. Utility Worker I required to have a Michigan Distribution License S-4
4. Utility Worker II requires no license. Once he receives a S-4 license or higher he will be immediately promoted to Utility Worker I
