The future of water depends on strong leaders

Applications are now open for the 2027 cohort of the Transformative Water Leadership Academy (TWLA), a 10-month experience designed for emerging leaders across the water sector.
Through TWLA, participants:
  • Learn alongside water professionals from across the U.S. and Canada, gaining perspectives beyond their local utility and region
  • Explore leadership through real water-sector challenges, including workforce retention, resilience, community trust, and organizational change
  • Build relationships with peers, mentors, and utility leaders that continue long after the program ends
  • Apply learning directly to their work through a capstone project designed to create meaningful utility and community impact
  • Develop the confidence and leadership capacity to help utilities navigate the future of water
TWLA helps prepare leaders who can strengthen utilities, support resilient communities, and navigate the future challenges facing the water sector. Learn more about the TWLA.

Support the Water Workforce
Workforce challenges continue to rank amongst the top 10 issues facing the water sector, based on the 2026 State of the Water Industry report. TWLA utilities invest in and retain emerging leaders while building stronger teams for the future.
If the program is not right for you, consider encouraging a colleague or staff member to apply. Sometimes future leaders simply need someone to recognize their potential and encourage them to take the next step.
Share this opportunity with your team and encourage them to apply.
