Laboratory Technician
Location: 9290 Farrand Rd, Montrose, MI 48457

There is one (1) opening for a Laboratory Technician at Genesee County Water and Waste Services in Montrose, MI.
Duties include: Collects samples and conducts laboratory tests on raw, primary, and final stage sewage, and on plant processes. Performs related laboratory and operational analysis.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess and continuously maintain a valid Michigan driver’s license, as well as qualify to drive a Division vehicle in compliance with the Division Driver Policy.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces and outdoors under varying climatic conditions.
- Must be able to walk over rough terrain and climb ladders and stairs.
- Graduation from a high school or equivalent G.E.D. Associates degree in Science with a major in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Environmental Science or other related degree is preferred.
- Twelve (12) hours of college level chemistry and four (4) hours of college level algebra.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
- One-year experience in a water or wastewater laboratory setting.
- May be asked to work every other weekend and/or combination of two weekends per month due to vacations and sickness.
