Add Us to Your Safe Sender List

Posted By: Stacey Kukkonen Community News,

Our website isn't the only thing evolving. Have you noticed a difference in Section emails? Or perhaps you haven't seen them at all? No sweat - we'll show you how to be sure you're still receiving all the latest news from the Michigan Section. Note: emails from the Section will have the host server Constant Contact at the bottom.
Step 1: Check to see if you have received email from the Section lately.

Outlook users: Check your "Focused," "Other," and "Junk" folders to locate any emails you may have received from the Section lately. Open the email, and just below the sender/recipient section, you may see a note that said the email came from outside your network or is unknown. Try clicking this text to add the Section to your safe sender list.

GMAIL users: Check your "Primary," "Social," "Promotions," and "Junk" folders for recent emails from the Section. You may also have the option to add to the safe sender list from the sender/recipient section.

Others users: Be sure to check all your folders, including your inbox, junk, and spam, for recent emails from the Section. You may also have the option to add to the safe sender list from the sender/recipient section.

Step 2: Safelist MI-AWWA

If you found any of the Section's emails in any other folder but your primary inbox, it's time to safelist (also known as whitelist) our emails. There are several ways to accomplish this. For example, from Outlook:

  1. Select Actions from the toolbar at the top of the screen.
  2. Select Junk E-mail.
  3. Select Junk E-mail Options...
  4. Click the Safe Sender tab.
  5. Click Add.
  6. Type in the email address you wish to add to your safe sender list.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Secret message: send an email to Stacey@mi-water.org to say hello!

For older versions of Outlook, follow the directions here.

Step 3: Troubleshooting if Safelisting Fails

Some companies have certain firewall and intrusion prevention security programs which can interfere (or block) incoming emails from our host server, Constant Contact. If you still aren't receiving our emails and you already had the Section safelisted, please reach out to your company's IT team to update the safelist in your security program as well.

If you still haven't received an email from the Section in a while (members: check for Water Works Update on Tuesdays, for example), please reach out to staff at info@mi-water.org for assistance.

Constant Contact IP Address

If the program allows IP addresses, you or your IT team can add these Constant Contact IP ranges to your safelist:

  • 208.75.123.0/24
  • 205.207.106.0/24
