Izamar Contreras

Izamar is the Assistant Project Manager for the City of Grand Rapids Utilities. For the last eight years, she has played a key role in developing and implementing various programs that support the mission and vision of the utility. This includes programs that support workforce development, community engagement, benchmarking, lead service line replacement program, and innovation. She also oversees various grants and regulatory requirements. She serves as Chair for the Michigan Local Government Latino Network, a regional chapter of the national Local Government Hispanic Network. She has a bachelor’s in public policy from Western Michigan University and a master’s in public administration from Grand Valley State University.
