What is MI-AWWA?

Do I join MI-AWWA or AWWA?
When you join AWWA, you automatically become a member of your local Section based on the state given in your address.
Who can become a member?
Membership is open to anyone interested in the drinking water profession, including operators, engineers, consultants, manufacturers, regulators, educators, students, utility personnel, and other industry professionals.
How do I become a volunteer?
Explore our Committees, Councils, or Flexible Volunteer Opportunities pages to find the opportunity that best matches your interests and availability.
Do I need experience to volunteer?
No. Many volunteer opportunities are open to members who simply want to become involved and contribute.
Can non-members volunteer?
Some volunteer opportunities are available to non-members. However, MI-AWWA encourages active volunteers to become members to fully participate in the Section and its leadership opportunities.
How do I become a committee or council leader?
Leadership opportunities become available throughout the year. Serving on a committee is a great way to gain experience and prepare for future leadership roles.
How do I register for an event?
Registration is available through each event's webpage. Simply log in and complete the online registration process before the registration deadline.
Can I earn Continuing Education Credits (CECs)?
Many MI-AWWA training programs, workshops, and conferences offer Continuing Education Credits (CECs). Eligible events will indicate the number of credits available.
When will I receive my CEC certificate?
Certificates are typically issued within one to two weeks following the event.
What if I need to cancel my registration?
Please review our Cancellation Policy for information regarding cancellations, substitutions, deadlines, and refund eligibility.
Do I have to be a member to attend events?
Most events are open to both members and non-members. Member pricing is available for many events.

What can I purchase in the Online Store?
The MI-AWWA Online Store includes event registrations, sponsorships, publications, apparel, promotional items, and other Section products as available.
Do I need to be a member to make a purchase?
Some items are available to everyone, while others may be offered exclusively to members or at discounted member pricing.
What payment methods do you accept?
MI-AWWA accepts major credit cards, ACH/electronic payments (where available), and checks for eligible purchases.
Can I request an invoice?
Yes. Many purchases can be invoiced. Please ensure the invoice is directed to the appropriate billable party within your organization.
Where can I find my order confirmation or receipt?
Order confirmations are emailed after your purchase. If you need another copy, please contact the MI-AWWA office.
