Water School

Water School is MI-AWWA’s foundational training, a multi-session learning experience designed to build and reinforce the core knowledge that every water professional needs, regardless of role or license level. Drawing on all five tiers of the Water and Wastewater Competency Model, sessions cover everything from technical operations and regulatory compliance to workplace skills, safety, and professional effectiveness. Whether you’re new to the sector and building your foundation or an experienced professional filling in gaps and staying current, Water School meets you where you are.

Operator Exam Prep
Offered: Spring & Fall  |  Format: In-Person  |  Audience: Operators and Water Professionals Pursuing Drinking Water Certification  |  DOL Competency Tier(s): Tier 4, Tier 5

These instructor-led courses are designed to help water operators review key concepts, sharpen problem-solving skills, and walk into their operations exam with confidence. Through guided review of core exam topics aligned with EGLE requirements, practice problems, test-taking strategies, and interactive Q&A, participants leave with both the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed.MI-AWWA offers two distinct exam prep courses to help water professionals prepare for certification:
  • Exam Prep: S License (Distribution)
  • Exam Prep: D & F Licenses (Treatment)
