Planning for the Future of Michigan's Water Community
Planning for the Future of Michigan's Water Community
MI-AWWA's Strategic and Business Plans work together to guide the Section's priorities, programs, and investments. Together, they provide the framework for how we serve our members, strengthen Michigan's drinking water community, and fulfill our mission of A Better Michigan Through Better Water.
2024–2029 Strategic Plan
The 2024–2029 Strategic Plan was developed through the dedication of the Strategic Planning Committee, Michigan water professionals, and valuable input from MI-AWWA members across the state.
Approved by the Board of Trustees in July 2024, the Strategic Plan establishes the long-term vision, goals, and priorities that guide the Section's work over the next five years.
The plan focuses on advancing our mission while supporting members, strengthening the water profession, and addressing the evolving needs of Michigan's drinking water industry.

2025 Business Plan
While the Strategic Plan establishes the long-term direction of the Section, the Business Plan identifies the annual initiatives and actions that move those goals forward.
Approved by the Board of Trustees in July 2025, the Business Plan outlines the programs, priorities, and operational objectives that support the Strategic Plan and guide MI-AWWA's work throughout the year.
It serves as a roadmap for staff, volunteer leaders, councils, and committees as they implement projects and measure progress toward the Section's strategic priorities.
